American
Beauties is an award-winning documentary on Asian transgender
immigrants. We enter the secretive, often misunderstood world of immigrant
male to female transgenders. In a series of illuminating interviews,
Amanda, Imani, Kimberly and Kosal give revealing insights on the issues
closest to their hearts: discrimination, prostitution, and sex reassignment
surgery as well as their former lives, and their dreams for the future.
Interview Transcript (Part 3)
Imani: I came here and there was no jobs or anything, so
I had to do fast money. Where I had to...I was...um...selling drugs,
and doing a lot of illegal things, just to give me by by myself. Because,
I mean, my parents didn't support me no more, so I had to support
myself. So, I did a lot of prostituting also. But didn't do drugs
so that was the good thing.
I didn't start prostituting until maybe 3 months after I started selling
drugs because when I was selling drugs, I was making good money but
not enough for to make me satisfied. So, I would...when, um...where
I was standing at the corner that I was working at, there were a lot
of prostitutes. And they, I've seen them making a lot of money, so
when I was standing there, and a car wound up buy me while I was making,
making, selling my drugs, he asked me to get in the car with them,
and when I got in the car with them, we talked, and one thing led
to another, and he gave me some money, so it worked from there. Every
night, while I was selling dope, I was prostituting at the same time.
Amanda: I have no shame. You know, I mean, if they
call me little slut, little whore or bitch whatever, but you know,
I love sex, I did good sex, I get paid for sex, and I'm good at it
and while I'm still young, too, you know, still attractive to get
it, you know, hell, I'll get it.
I'm versatile. I mean, you know, I can be top and I can be bottom
and not a lot of people can say that. I mean, but...that's the way
I like it, that's the way I am. And...a lot of people appreciate it
that way.
Kimberly: I wasn't really into that thing before,
you know, until that I...that somebody told me to do it. Because you,
they say, you're gonna make a ton of money, if you do it, blah blah
blah and at the same time you're enjoying what you're doing. And I
was very convinced. I made sometimes 800 a day but the lowest is 400.
Imani: And it was giving me that income that I really
want it. And that made me satisfied because I was making at least
1500 to 2000 dollars a night, which was really good. But then, I really
didn't wanna do it no more after a year and a half of that, because
it was...I was risking my life, I never had got arrested down there,
thank God, but I was risking my life and I was...um...it was just
scary.
Kimberly: I can say it's tempting. Because I made
so much money, you know, because you look good and you know, hey,
this guy likes me, pay a lot of money. Oh, I'm gonna go shopping next
day, blah blah blah.
It wasn't fun. Because all you want is to make quick money. Whatever
they wanna do, whatever, you know. I mean, hey, give me the money
first. If you don't give me money, good bye.
Amanda: Men are like attracted to, you know, somebody
transgender because they have best of both worlds. You know, they're
woman with something extra, which I was telling them when they ask
me, you know. And, once you get cut off, then you're not special anymore.
You're just another woman.
And I don't know, some people, or most of the people I heard that
has had sex change are not like happy. They are not happy. I mean,
because you know, you can't feel anything. This is like a hole there.
And yes, you know, your husband can be thinking that you're a woman,
and you know, everybody else thinks you're a woman, but then, you
know what was there, and you know, and you know it doesn't feel like
it used to or whatever. But then I hear that it doesn't make you complete.
Imani: Yeah, some people want it, some people don't
want it. Because you don't have a feeling, you know, you don't get
the feeling, so a lot of people don't want it, because what's the
use of it. A lot of people just like it because, you know, they get
that, you know, they can...you know.
Kimberly: I wanna change more!
Imani: So, I wanna get my vagina.
Kimberly: I wanna change my hips and my butt. But
I have the breast already, you know, I mean.
Interviewer: Are you going, are you willing to go
all to the…?
Kimberly: All the way? If we have money, yeah. Why
not?
Interviewer: Are you prepared for that? Psychologically?
Spiritually? Mentally?
Kimberly: Well, half, half. Yeah, because I still
wanna use mine, still. Because if I wanna go all the way, then, you
know, I may wanna hide it, you know. Honey, don't touch it. Or honey,
blah blah blah. But I wanna use it, why not?
Amanda: Okay, this is me. I mean, you know, regardless
of, you know, what they did to me when I was young. Or regardless,
you know, if I don't have sex change yet. I mean, I'm happy, you know,
I'm happy to be me as I am right now.
I mean, even though, I mean, yes, I'd love bigger breast. And you
know, I mean. Sure, I'd love vagina, I had one, you know, I mean,
but they took away. But that's something I can't do about that.
I can move forward but then it's...like I said...I'd love to be classified
as a woman, but if it means giving up my other genital, you know,
again, to be, you know, woman, then I really don't want to be classified
as a woman. I just want to be classified as me. |

most people dont deserve sex changes. only a very few need it. get the [beep] over it, and be tough and rewire the brain instead of having there cocks cut off and stuffed inside them selfs. the mind is a powerful thing and is capable of so much. having a sex change just because, shows a great deal of mental weakness.
cutting the [beep] off is the cheap losers way of dealing with trans gender issues.
